Snack boxes usually don’t break the bank, but a Michelin chef has recently created a £223.70 Graze box – a 5,500% increase on its normal value – according to an article in the Evening Standard.
The new box, a collaboration with chef Simon Rogan, features four luxury snacks which promise to “push the boundaries of both flavour and culinary technique”.
The limited edition boxes, which will only be available to those who enter a ballot, include a grilled salad, west coast of Scotland lobster and horseradish Styrofoam, salt and vinegar British corn-fed chicken popcorn and mascarpone, raspberry and hazelnut biscuit.
Graze x Simon Rogan recipes
- Grilled Salad:Cartmel-farmed cauliflower, kale, freeze-dried Isle of Mull cheddar, garlic, chilli and sunflower seeds
- West Coast of Scotland Lobster and Horseradish Styrofoam:Lobster puffs, horseradish styrofoam, beetroot, apple and tarragon
- Salt and Vinegar British Corn-fed Chicken Popcorn:Crispy chicken skin with salt and vinegar half popped corn
- Mascarpone, raspberry and hazelnut biscuit: Freeze-dried mascarpone, raspberry strings, pear, hand-picked sweet cicely and hazelnut biscuit
Mr Rogan said he took inspiration from the food served at Fera and Claridge’s and L’Enclume and worked with Graze to incorporate British flavours into the snacks.
He added: “It’s not something I’ve ever done before, but I said yes immediately. The challenge of marrying Michelin starred techniques, fresh foods and flavours, combining this with the precise graze punnet formula is a food feat that’s never been achieved before.”
